TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES TO THE STUDENTS OF TECHNICAL PROFESSIONS USING THE PRINCIPLES OF NEURODIDEACTICS: PROBLEM STATEMENT

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of English-speaking communicative competence formation among students of technical professions using the principles of neurodidactics. The purpose of the article is to review the neurodidactic principles and their usage in the process of teaching foreign language to students of technical professions.

The analysis of modern scientifical studies shows that due to a progress in neuroscience, which could be observed last decades, neuropedagogic becomes more and more poplar branch of pedagogic. It is also stressed that under the conditions of intercultural communication intensification, especially in the field of science and technologies, foreign language competence training of technical professions students should take into account the latest neuroscience investigation results. This logically brings up an issue of the integration of the scientific achievements into the education process while the constant modernisation of the education is the foundation of its quality. In the article the principles of neurodidactic are reviewed, the basic characteristics of foreign language competence of technical professions students are mentioned, main directions of neurodidactic principles usage in the process of foreign language competence training are defined.

Having regard to the short review of modern neurodidactic principles set forth in modern linguistic studies, basic meaningful for foreign competence training of technical professions students approaches could be distinguished: the lesson should be structured with due account for sociality of brain, and thus of perceptional activity, in accordance with structurative activity of brain especially important is teaching by work from patterns, charts etc., principle of positive motivation makes the creation of positive atmosphere on the lesson a key point in a foreign language teaching. The importance of taking into account students perceptional activity features during organization of educational process should be also stressed. This predetermines the necessity of practical component relative share increase in teaching and learning process. The special attention, in our view, should be paid to defining of content selection principles for educational materials, development of this process, and also providing regular updating of learning materials.

Based on the above mentioned statements it is considered that the future directions of further researches of the outlined problem lies in a study and systematization of neurobiological and neurodidactics studies results in the field of both principles of information for educational materials selection and working-out and development of profession-oriented methodologies of foreign language teaching for the students of technical professions.
