Abstract

The literature on physical education of children aged 10–11 and curricula on game sports and martial arts are analyzed. An assessment of the level of functional indicators of physical fitness and physical development in children 10–11 years old, who for 2–3 years are engaged in various fitness programs. The impact of different fitness programs (sports and martial arts) on children’s health is comparable. The priority of using martial arts fitness training programs to increase the level of physical fitness and physical development of students aged 10–11 has been experimentally proven. The study was conducted in October 2020 on the basis of secondary schools № 81, № 108 and Zaporizhia. The study involved 40 children who are engaged in various fitness programs from 2 to 3 years (10 boys and girls – martial arts rescued, 10 boys – football and 10 girls from the volleyball group) for more than two years. Tests were performed to determine the physical fitness and efficiency of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The comparison was made between boys (save – football) and girls (save – volleyball). The lowest level of activity during the entire training in volleyball is much lower than in football or martial arts. The greatest positive impact on the cardiovascular and respiratory systems was given by the football training program, due to the predominant use of exercises for the development of cardio-respiratory block and lower extremity girdle. The disadvantage was the low rates of development, which limits the harmony of the development of the child’s body. The obtained data showed that rescue, having a high level of activity, has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system and respiratory system and effectively develops flexibility. Wrestling exercises allow you to harmoniously develop the muscles of the upper and lower extremities, neck and torso, as well as coordination of movements and balance of the body. In terms of physical fitness and functional condition of the cardiovascular system, children who are engaged in rescue showed the same level of results, and in the case of flexibility – significantly better than children who are engaged in play sports. Also, thanks to a sufficient number of general developmental exercises and various training methods, martial arts contribute to the harmonious development of the body of children of primary school age.
