Abstract

This scientific work is a theoretical and experimental research of the problem of increasing the level of stress resistance of police officers performing combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) with the help of physical training. The general characteristic of police functions in the zone of JFO is carried out, the legal bases of their performance are resulted, normative legal acts of their realization are considered. Based on the theoretical analysis of the researched problem, namely mastering the psychological training of law enforcement officers performing combat missions in areas of active hostilities, the foreign experience of the leading countries of the world (USA, Great Britain, Germany) was considered. Generalization of scientific approaches to defining the concept of psychological training of police officers made it possible to conclude that this is a holistic and organized process of forming their mental stability and psychological readiness for action in combat, in difficult and dangerous conditions, in a situation that changes abruptly during prolonged nervous-psychological pressure, overcoming the difficulties associated with military service in both war and peacetime. Tasks, means and methods of psychological training in combat conditions are revealed. Taking into account the requirements of the regulatory framework, the conceptual foundations of methodological approaches, the author’s sets of physical exercises aimed at improving the psychological training of police officers performing combat missions in the area of the JFO on the second line of defense were developed. The implementation of the proposed sets of physical exercises took place during a pedagogical experiment involving police officers of the special police who performed combat missions to deter the aggression of the Russian Federation in the Donetsk region. At the formative stage of the research, 60 people took part, 30 people made up the experimental group, 30 people – the control group. Forms of realization of pedagogical experiment were individual lessons (5 trainings), group lessons (15 trainings) self-dependent lessons (5 trainings). The effectiveness of meaningfully developed and experimentally implemented sets of physical exercises aimed at improving the psychological training of police officers was proved at the control stage of the experimental work.
