Abstract

The article presents a theoretical overview of the basic concepts of identity as a structure of the self-concept of personality. It has been noted that in the psychological literature the concept of “identity” is considered and interpreted as a dynamic system that develops during human life and has a complex hierarchical structure. In the concepts of professional development of the personality three aspects of consideration of professional identity are the following: professional identity as a tendency of becoming a professional; professional identity as an individual-personal emotional state in which the individual is at different stages of the professional path; professional identity as a structural element of the professional path. Scientists have noted conceptual markers of professional identity: professional identity is a phenomenon of selfawareness of the individual; professional identification is dynamic, formed and developed in the process of professional genesis of personality; professional identity is related to the professional community. The main indicators of professional identity are the following: self-awareness, involvement in the corporate and professional community, attitude to the profession and to oneself in it, acceptance of a professional role. The main factors influencing the formation of professional identity also have been identified in the paper. It has been determined that the doctor’s professional identity as an individual psychological phenomenon is characterized by the coordination of cognitive, personality-valuable and professional paradigms of personal “self-image of a doctor”, professional self-realization and identification-differentiation with the professional community. In the paradigm of studying the doctor’s professional self-concept (cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social components), the professional identification is characterized by three patterns: communicative, professional, reflexive. The article has proposed a theoretical model of a doctor’s professional identity, which contains the characteristics of social identity and psychology of a professional and includes structural components of values (cognitive-emotional-evaluation component) and content (cognitivebehavioral- social component).
