Abstract

The article reveals the linguistic and methodological foundations of the formation of phonetic concepts of preschool and primary school age children on the basis of continuity and prospects; didactic games for school children are provided, which promote to the development of phonemic hearing and the acquisition of essential features of phonetics concepts. The features of the phonemic perception of children of different age groups are highlighted, methodological approaches to mastering the concepts of phonetics in preschool and school age during literacy are compared. The level of accounting by the State Standard of Primary Education for compliance with linguodidactic principles of continuity and prospects was analyzed. It was discovered that preschool children learn the sound structure of a language in the process of practical use of that language, at the speech and informative level. In this case, internal generalizations are formed unconsciously, and without conscious efforts. At school, linguistic phenomena become the subject of theoretical awareness and observation in order to highlight their essential features. A typical drawback of preparing children for school is the imperfection of the speech hearing of first-graders, in particular phonemic, and articulation deficiencies. Speech defects prevent first graders from correctly learning a written language. Phonemic hearing is the basis for the formation of reading skills, conscious pronunciation skills, and spelling skills. Underdevelopment of phonetic hearing leads to the fact that children do not learn the relationship between the phonetic and graphic systems of the language, spelling rules based on the phonetic principle of spelling (using an apostrophe, soft sign, doubling letters as a result of phonetic lengthening, etc.), prevents skipping or replacement letters to indicate sounds, etc. In school teaching, teaching methods and techniques are changing: language analysis, observation of speech, the work of speech organs and the acoustic properties of sounds during their articulation become leading.
