LEARNING OF COMPLEX SENTENCES WITH CONTRACTUAL CONDITIONS IN CLASSES ON UKRAINIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Keywords: syntax, complex sentence, subjunctive part, connecting means, conjunction, real and unreal conditions, foreign language audience

Abstract

The article considers the specifics of the functioning of complex sentences with contract conditions. All connecting means are given in sentences of such structure. The place of the contracted part in the sentence is shown. Examples of conditional sentences from classical Ukrainian fiction are given. Teaching a foreigner to master the syntax of the Ukrainian language is a difficult task for a teacher of a technical institution of higher education, because students of non-language institutions do not have a great need to use the language while studying (drawing, design, repair, solve problems). Therefore, it is possible to interest such students to compose complex syntactic constructions only with questions about universal problems, global catastrophes, areas of interest of the student, planning for the future, talking about pain, reading and discussing fiction. The system of exercises and tasks presented in the article will help to develop in foreign students the ability to distinguish and correctly use complex sentences with contractual conditions, to systematize and deepen knowledge of Ukrainian grammar, to activate and develop professional communication skills on relevant and socially important topics. A compound sentence with a subjunctive condition is a complex sentence, the subjunctive part of which indicates a real or unreal (desirable or possible) condition under which what is said in the main sentence occurs or could occur. Syntactic material is an integral part of the lesson on Ukrainian as a foreign language. It contributes to the formation of clear, logical, correctly structured statements in foreign students. The use of words and prose by Ukrainian masters of the word as illustrative material is an important component in achieving success in this process. The proposed exercises will help increase the level of Ukrainian language proficiency of foreign students. Such tasks are more suitable for students who study the language at the highest level, as well as for undergraduates and postgraduate students who improve their knowledge in order to write their research in Ukrainian.
